About the role

We're building something exciting. As we continue to grow our operations and invest in the future of the Cobar region, we're looking for an experienced and people-focused Technical Services Superintendent to join our Federation operation.

Reporting to the Technical Services Regional Manager, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team of Mining Engineers, Geologists and Geotechnical professionals, creating an environment where people are supported to succeed, develop their capability and contribute to safe, sustainable mining outcomes.

This is an opportunity for a collaborative leader who enjoys bringing people together, solving complex operational challenges and influencing mine performance through strong planning, communication and technical excellence.

• Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

• Location: Federation Mine, Nymagee NSW

Travel options

• DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

• FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Technical Services team across Mining Engineering, Geology and Geotechnical disciplines

• Foster a safe, inclusive and high-performing team culture

• Support the achievement of production, safety and cost objectives

• Contribute to forecasts, budgets and operational planning activities

• Manage drilling programs and ensure high-quality geological data collection and interpretation

• Build strong working relationships across operational, technical and corporate teams

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering

• Experience leading technical teams within an underground mining environment

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills

• A collaborative leadership style focused on coaching and development

• Mine planning, analytical and problem-solving capability

• Experience using Deswik, Pronto and Microsoft Office

• A passion for developing people and improving team performance
