Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Shape geotechnical strategy across three underground mines, mentor engineers and influence major projects and decisions.
About us
Aurelia Metals Limited is an ASX-listed, Australian-owned gold and base metals company based in NSW. We operate the Peak and Federation underground mines and are progressing the Great Cobar Project, a high-grade copper development near Peak.
We are proud to be a WORK180 endorsed employer, with inclusion, safety, and our Values at the heart of everything we do. With one of the most prospective land positions in the Cobar Basin, we are unlocking value through discovery, development, and growth.
The Great Cobar Project, with an eight-year mine plan and strong exploration upside, will drive the next generation of growth at Aurelia and create diverse career pathways for those wanting to be part of a high-performance, forward-thinking culture.
About the role
As our Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across Aurelia's underground operations at Peak, Federation and the Great Cobar. This is a rare opportunity to shape geotechnical strategy across multiple orebodies, mining methods and stages of mine life while working closely with operational and technical leaders.
You'll play a key role in ground control management, geotechnical risk assessment, mine design reviews and operational decision-making. Working across both established and growing operations, you'll influence how we manage geotechnical performance, support safe production outcomes and help guide the next generation of geotechnical professionals.
The role offers broad exposure to remnant mining, seismic ground conditions, major underground infrastructure, mine expansion projects and narrow-vein stoping environments, providing the variety and technical challenge that experienced geotechnical engineers seek. You'll have the opportunity to mentor site geotechnical teams, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help shape the future direction of our geotechnical function.
